Kingdom Landscaping Becomes Techo-Bloc Pro Contractor
Techo-Bloc is one of the leading paver manufacturers in the United States, and every year they host a series of Contractor Showcases on the East Coast. We were unable to attend last year's showcase due to snow, but we made it the 2016 event that was held in Frederick, Maryland. This year's theme was #Why I Hardscape. Techo-Bloc's very own "Paver Pete" (Pete Baloglou) encouraged us to set ourselves apart from other contractors by focusing on our passion and specific "niche" in the design and build market. We came away from the event encouraged and ready to "CHARGE" into this new 2016 season.
So, what sets Kingdom Landscaping apart from other landscape contractors:
- Creative Design & Build / "Your yard is our canvas!"
- Family Owned & Operated / Personal and trustworthy service.
- Successful Business / 20+ years of experience.
- Featured Projects / In national catalogs, Pond Squad episodes, etc.
- Versatility / Landscaping - Hardscaping - Waterscaping
While at the event, we decided to fill out their application and apply to be a Techo-Pro Contractor. We received the official news today that we have been accepted as one of their Pro Contractors. Yay!
As of today, we are the ONLY Techo-Pro Contractor in the Hagerstown (Maryland) and Waynesboro (Pennsylvania) area!!!
Well, one of the things I love the most about the Techo-Bloc designers is that they think "out of the box." Their catalog is filled with creative patterns, textures, and mosaics, which definitely challenges me as a designer. Two years ago, I began incorporating their "Antika" paver line in some of our EP Henry projects. The outcome was stunning! At this point, Techo-Bloc is the only manufacturer that offers a product like the Antika pavers, and I love them.
My Personal Favorites
Antika Pavers - I love to use these around fire pits, for pathways, or a border around a swimming pool.
Villagio Pavers - The texture of these pavers are great for border accents and mosaics or for permeable applications.
Maya Slab Steppers - These are great for informal pathways.
Maya Steps - The large slabs weigh approximately 600 lbs each, and; therefore, must be set with a machine and straps. However, they make a beautiful, irregular staircase approximately 4' wide and up to 30" deep.
What's New for 2016
Techo-Bloc actually published a 2016 New Products Brochure, which we received at the Contractor Showcase. Currently, it is not featured on their website, so if you are interested in seeing the new products catalog or receiving their new 2016 (26th Edition) full products catalog, please feel free to request one by filling out our Get a Quote form on our website. Just tell us that you want a Techo-Bloc catalog in the "Tell Us About Your Project" box. We will gladly mail and/or hand deliver a catalog to you.
So, as far as their new product line is concerned, I like the Brandon wall square Fire Pit Kit. It comes in Shale Grey and Chestnut Brown. The top cap looks very formal and "classy."
